Funeral service for Mrs. Louise Sams Key, 89, will be Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Parker Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Jones officiating. Burial will take place in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at the church. Mrs. Key passed away on January 12, 2018 at RMC in Anniston. Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Tommy) Edwards of Heflin and Kathy (Larry) Gilchrist of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Jamison (Katie) Edwards of Jacksonville, Jonathan (Mandy) Edwards of Tuscaloosa, Colby Gilchrist of Alexandria and Abbey (Brandon) Hanner of Alexandria; six great-grandchildren, Hannah Kate, Walker and Barrett Edwards, Adeline and Amelia Edwards and Jace Hanner; two sisters-in-law, Dot Patterson of Anniston and Alice Curvin of Anniston; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Larry Gilchrist, Tommy Edwards, Jamison Edwards, Jonathan Edwards, Colby Gilchrist, Brandon Hanner, Tyler Almaroad and Garrett Modica. Honorary pallbearers will be Tricey Foster, LaKeisha Baker, Chip Rollins, LuAnne Wright, Beverly Almaroad, Regina Aderholt and Ann Modica. Mrs. Key was a loving mother and MawMaw. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her Bible, cooking and shopping. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Berton Key; her son, Gary Lynn Key; her parents, John Ernest Sams and Nora Cobb Sams; and eight brothers and sisters.
