Lytel "Bubba" SmithSeptember 15, 1955 ~ July 17, 2017 (age 61)
Jacksonville – Funeral service for Mr. Lytel “Bubba” Smith, 61, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Holiness Church with Rev. Bruce Johnson, Rev. John Gabbard, and Rev. Kevin Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at the church, on Friday, July 21, 2017, from 6-9 p.m. Lytel died shouting at church and straight into glory.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Joyce Ann Smith; his daughter, Treva Michelle Smith; two “adopted” grandchildren, Preston Shaum and John Randall Groshon; one brother, Tommie Smith; two sisters, Patricia Perpetuno and Nancy DeLeon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Wilbanks, Donnie Bragg, Mike Baker, Mark Pearson, Ricky Newton, Josh Smith, Chris Wilkerson, Cephus Cannon, and Ray Hawthrone. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Pleasant Valley Holiness Church.
Lytel was a faithful and dedicated member of Pleasant Valley Holiness Church. He was an established prayer warrior and was involved with the church from its inception. Lytel loved to read his bible and avidly pray for everyone he knew. He retired from the Jacksonville Street Department after 40 years. Lytel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Lytel was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lytel and Lola Roberta McFall Smith; one daughter, Nancy Jean Smith; and his son, Anthony Lytel "Bubby" Smith.
