Anniston – Funeral service for Mrs. Mary E. Ledbetter, 91, will be Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Anniston Memorial Gardens, weather permitting. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Mrs. Ledbetter went home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 14, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Survivors include her six children, Dorothy Carson of Anniston, Herbert Ledbetter (Marie) of Martinez, GA, Judy Poland (James) of Alexandria, David Ledbetter (Diane) of Anniston, Glenn (Genny) Ledbetter of Anniston, and Geyna Hurtado (Tim) of Munford; nine grandchildren, Kevin Carson (Rhonda) of Oxford, Lamar Poland (Leigh Ann) of Alexandria, Keith Ledbetter of Glencoe, Stacy Welch (Bobby) of Alexandria, Greg Ledbetter (Kim) of Anniston, Lee Ledbetter (Jennifer) of GA, Caleb Ledbetter of Martinez, GA, Chayse Hurtado of Munford, and Karina Hurtado of Munford; 11 great-grandchildren, Garrett Poland, Arika Blue, Darren Ledbetter, Mitch Welch, Tommy Welch, Hunter Ledbetter, Charlie Ledbetter, Luke Carson, Ansley Ledbetter, Kelsey Ledbetter, and Jessie Ledbetter; one sister-in-law, Jane Freeman of Selma; one daughter-in-law, Daphne Robinson of Anniston; and her four-legged babies, her precious cats, whom she loved taking care of. Mrs. Ledbetter was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed attending church when she was able and was a lifetime member of Eulaton United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she loved to garden and work with her flowers, collect Collector’s Edition baby dolls, and to spend time with her beloved family. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Jin and his nurse, Karen; Alacare Hospice of Oxford; and her special neighbor, Glenda Martin. Mrs. Ledbetter was preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. and Effie Purvis Freeman; her husband, Dan Ledbetter; and nine brothers and sisters.
