Jacksonville - A funeral mass for Mr. Paul Zapata, 52, will be held at 6:00 p.m, on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. NAME will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Mr. Zapata passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at RMC in Anniston. Mr. Zapata is survived by his wife of 22 years, Leisa Zapata of Jacksonville; three children, Angela Zapata and Anthony Zapata, both of Hayward, CA and Amiel J. Zapata of Jacksonville; three step-children, Mylena Aranda of Jacksonville and Elisha Aranda and Ariana Aranda, both of Hayward, CA; two grandchildren, Judah Israel Colin and Maliah Mae Zapata, both of Hayward, CA; one sister, Margaret Rivas of Union City, CA; and one brother, David Zapata and Helma Geuss-Zapata. Mr. Zapata was a loving husband, awesome Dad and a devoted brother. He had a great personality and loved to make people laugh. Mr. Zapata had an interest in sports of all kinds, but his passion was in tattoo and cultural artistry. He was beyond talented in his artwork. Mr. Zapata believed that beauty was not always seen on the outside or in the colors, but it was found in looking beyond them to the designs and creative thoughts themselves. The family wishes to share his personal thought with those who knew and loved him, “As long as my art remains in your memories, my spirit lives through you…as our hearts beat to the sounds of the wind.” Mr. Zapata was preceded in death by his parents, Jack G. and Ophelia Sanchez Zapata; and two brothers, Robert and Alphonso Zapata.
