Jacksonville - Mr. Troy Levon Mitchell, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 9, 2018. Funeral service for Mr. Mitchell will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Wellspring Church of God, 11040 US Hwy 278 East. The Rev. Gary Watts and the Rev. Donald Rader will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 12, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. Entombment will follow the service in Anniston Memorial Gardens. Troy is survived by his wife, Eleanor Fair Ontiveros Mitchell, of Jacksonville; three children, Lee Heath, of Anniston, Pam (Tom) Bouska, of Huntsville and Leta (Ronald) Freeman, of Leesburg; three step-children, Frank (Jackie) Ontiveros of Macon, Ga., Rudy (Patty) Ontiveros, of Anniston and Elena Saxon, of Meridian, Miss.; five grandchildren, Leah (CPT Charles) Bouska Hosey, Anna (Brandon) Bouska Sherrod, Emma Bouska, Mitchell Freeman and Joanna Kay Freeman; six step-grandchildren, Jessica (David) Sanchez, Christina Freeman Sears, Melissa Ontiveros, Alex Ontiveros, Jade Saxon and Zachary Saxon; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Kay Hosey; two step-great-grandchildren, Baylie Sears and Connor Cavendar; one sister, Shirley (Buddy) Gaines; and two brothers, Buck (Anne) Mitchell and Jackie (Pat) Mitchell. Troy was a beloved husband, father and friend. He was a Calhoun County native and retired from the Anniston Army Depot. Troy’s most enjoyable job occurred upon retirement, where he drove a special needs school bus and transported senior citizens to needed appointments. Troy loved Alabama football and playing dominoes and cards, but what he loved most of all was giving to others and spending time with his family. Troy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Greenwood Mitchell, and his first wife of 54 years and the mother of his children, Leta Kay Fair Mitchell.
