A visitation for Mrs. Frances Hicks Reeves Dingler, 86, will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, on Wednesday, January 3, 2017, at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. There will be no public funeral service following the visitation, per the family’s wishes. Private burial take place in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Reeves is survived by her children, Eddie (Rhonda) Reeves of Walnut Grove, Larry (Gail) Reeves of Jacksonville, Judy Reeves of Read’s Mill, Peggy (Randy) Anderson of Gadsden and Jessica Brown of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Wallace of Jacksonville; three brothers, Curtis Hicks of Alexandria, Wayne (Lillie) Hicks and Jerry (Linda) Hicks of Ohatchee; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs Reeves was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed quilting and loved animals and was an excellent cook. Mrs. Reeves was passionate about her family. She nurtured and loved them unconditionally and was a wonderful caregiver. Mrs. Reeves was a kind-hearted and gentle mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Jessie Reeves; her second husband, Clarence Dingler; one daughter, Connie Reeves Brown; her parents, Ocie and Pearlie Medders Hicks; three sisters, Louise Bailey, Mary Etta Hicks and Henrietta Hicks; and four brothers, Royce, Vester, Carl and Kenneth Hicks. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2800 Reads Mill Road, Gadsden, AL 35905.
