Alexandria – Funeral services for Phyllis McCurry Hill will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Wayne Dunaway and Rev. Daniel Harper officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time.
Mrs. Hill died Tuesday at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Donald Hill; daughters, Kelly Gross (Don) and Lana Green (Jon); son, Don Hill, Jr. (Stacey Gibson); grandchildren, Payton Green, Kynleigh Green, Savanna Parsons, and Olivia Parsons; brothers, Louis McCurry, Jr. (Donna) and Terry McCurry (Sandra); many nieces and nephews; and her special pet, Molly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ovlen McCurry.
Pallbearers will be Jon Green, Payton Green, Don Gross, Jeff Langston, Jeff Blohm, and Jonathon Johnson.
Mrs. Hill was a member of Ohatchee Church of Christ, retired from Saks Elementary School after 23 years of service, and a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She will always be remembered as a person of immeasurable kindness with love and compassion for others. Her family, and especially her grandchildren, were the loves of her life. She had a servant’s heart and was the epitome of a Godly, Christian woman. The family would like to especially thank her loving nurses and aides with New Beacon Hospice, Dean Pearce and April Fullington; her precious caregivers Deena Coker, Brianna Wade and Marcella Moore; also, the Women’s Ministry of Saks Baptist Church for the countless meals, visits and cards. “While we look not at the things which are seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
